Post-Conviction Motions and Appeals occur in criminal cases after the defendant has been found guilty. Although a conviction is a jarring and life-changing experience that has serious consequences, you will have the right to appeal that conviction and file post-conviction motions seeking a new trial.

If you did not receive a fair trial because of legal issues that were wrongly decided by the trial judge, evidence was withheld by the government until after trial, or because new evidence was discovered after your conviction, you may be able to have your conviction overturned and receive a new trial with those issues corrected. At Maroni Law we will look at the record in the case to determine what issues we can argue to the appellate court that give you the best chance at having your conviction overturned.

There are often strict timelines that apply to appeals and post-conviction motions, so it is important that you retain an attorney to handle your appeal as soon as possible after your conviction. If you have recently been convicted and want to hire an attorney to appeal that conviction, contact Maroni Law as soon as possible so that we can begin looking at the record and preparing your appeal.
